With the aid of alternative cartographies, the Argentinian artist activists Iconoclasistas offer new interpretations of social and urban spaces, spotlighting local lines of conflict and problem zones. Above all they make use of pictorial languages and graphical strategies already in use at the particular location. Their game with the instruments of sociology and art always returns to collective workshops, in which the maps developed by Iconoclasistas are used to visualize problems, promote critical debate and find new ways to articulate collective knowledge.
